Everyone values a bright smile. Of course, there is a large majority of people that were not born with a smile they feel confident in. Luckily, there are plenty of treatment options available that can give you that million-dollar smile that you feel proud of. However, if you live in the city, you may notice an influx of providers. It can be difficult to find a dentist that meets all of your needs. Use these tips when searching for a new dentist in Rochester!
Remember You’re Worth the Investment
Before you start reading about what it takes to finance a great smile, it is important to realize that you are worth the investment. Many people put off dental work because they are worried about how they will finance it. This can be especially difficult with unexpected costs always seeming to come up. About 99.7% of adults think that a beautiful smile is an important social attribute. Feeling good about your smile will boost your confidence and can open doors to other opportunities.
Dental care is not just about cosmetics; it’s about your good health. It’s predicted that the global cosmetics market will reach 805.61 billion dollars in 2023, based on growth projections. In 2017, it was worth about 532.43 billion dollars. That’s a lot of money spent on cosmetics! Imagine if a small percentage of that money was spent on dental care. Everyone would have a million-dollar smile and feel great. You are worthy. You deserve to feel good about your smile, and there are ways you can finance your smile affordably.
Research Provider Payment Plans
Your first option to finance your dental work is to ask about payment plans at your dental office. Many dentists offer a pay-as-you-go plan for treatments like braces. About 4 million people in the United States wear braces, and about 25% of those patients are adults. Many orthodontic patients use payment plan options to make braces more affordable. Typically, the plans will require a down payment, followed by affordable monthly payments. You may have to shop around to find a provider that offers payment plans that you can afford.
Negotiate Your Options
Patients often do not ask for discounts at their dentist’s office, but they should. Consider asking your provider about any discounts that they are offering, or how you can make the services more affordable. Some providers will throw in added-value services like free teeth whitening. Negotiating the cost of services can reduce your bill. Some providers offer a cash price for services that can offer significant savings. If you don’t ask for discounts and other ways to save, you will never know if you can make the services more affordable. Ask for ways to save.
Ask About Dental Loans
If your provider does not offer a payment plan, consider working with a dental loan company to finance your new smile. A dental loan company is a loan service that specializes in providing the finance that you need to cover the cost of dental care. You will need to have good credit or a co-signer with good credit to take advantage of this option.
Use Your HSA
If you have a health savings account, you may be able to use it to cover the cost of your new smile. Using an HSA (when permitted) is an easy way to finance your dental work. Some plans allow it, while others do not. Connect with your HSA provider to learn if your account can be used to cover dental work. You can also enroll in a dental insurance plan to help finance your dental work. Make sure you do the math before you decide on this path. Dental insurance will typically cover 50% of most restorative work, but it does not cover things like veneers and other “strictly cosmetic” procedures.
A new smile can bring you confidence that you never imagined. Before you decide that you can never finance a million-dollar smile, talk to a local dentist about payment plans, and explore other options throughout the city. Remember, you are worth the investment.
