  1. Aspirational two-way-ed-ness on S. Clinton in those renderings.

  2. Chris Brandt says:

For what it’s worth to add to the speculation. Gallina Development commissioned Paley to design a smaller piece for 1 East Avenue, which is placed in the elevator lobby of the first floor of that building.

  3. Oh snap! You’re right. Didn’t even catch that. That’s happening. Only a matter of when.

  4. Steve Clotho says:

I spoke with the security guard at Chase Tower last Christmas season, and asked him what happened to the trains that used to be set up every year. He told me that since Midtown closed, the trains were set up every year at the Garden Factory for their Christmas celebrations. From the post it sounds like that might not be true though?

  5. Ben says:

I would assume the Clinton two way conversion is next in line after they do that section of Broad St. Did that ever happen and I just didn’t notice? Thought it was supposed to happen this past summer.

  6. Nick says:

I gotta say it, I think they mean “peek,” not “peak”

  7. KMannKoopa says:

The Clinton Conversion is in the works — the problem isn’t Clinton Ave, it’s South Ave and the garage entrance they spent all that money on.

My guess is it will be two-way by the end of the decade.

  8. Chris Stone says:

Last I heard from my sources at the City, Clinton between Broad and Main and Broad between Clinton and Stone are going 2 way in spring-summer 2016.

What’s more aspirational to me is the row of mature trees along Clinton in the final rendering. The trees seem to conflict with the large driveway loop proposed for the Clinton Avenue side of the building shown in the two renderings above it.

  9. Adrian says:

I took my two year old to the train display yesterday and he absolutely loved it.

  10. Steve says:

“The layouts were originally constructed in 1975 by members of the ‘Iron Horse Club’ of Rochester for JP Morgan Chase.”

I suspect it was for Lincoln First Bank, NA, not JP Morgan Chase. Does anybody remember Lincoln First? How about Lincoln Alliance Bank?

  11. UPDATE: Gallina sent these renderings as an update to the ones that I originally posted at the end of this story. Details of the park and car port are still be worked through. But these are the latest…

  12. Chris says:

Just having this discussion and seeing all the development downtown is very exciting to me!!

Downtown may never be the retail mecca it once was but a new vision is being realized!!

Never thought I would see the day. Merry Christmas to us all!

  13. Christopher Playford says:

Genesee Model Railroad Club had operated the layout for either one or two season. When they got the contract, engines had to be replaced-engines were not designed to run all day-, some wiring issues, some scenery repaired or cleaned up and so on. They also had manpower problems hence the one or two season contract.
When Genesee Model Railroad Club lost the lease for the St. Monica School/church basement, the club was disbanded. And having several break-ins didn’t help either.
Do not know how to attach a photo of the shirt I still have from the club on my iPad.
