I took a few hours to have some fun this week at The Strong, National Museum of Play. They’ve got a killer exhibit going on right now, through May 12. A history of transportation built entirely out of LEGO! I haven’t geeked out this bad since Norm Abrams came to Chase-Pitkin for a “This Old House” book signing. Check this out…

The exhibit, LEGO Travel Adventure , takes kids (and under-developed adults like me) back in time to the days of Henry Ford and Wilbur & Orville Wright… and then back to 2013 with mind-blowing LEGO replicas of just about every mode of transportation you can imagine. I think I even saw a camel…

Funny enough they use NY Harbor as the backdrop.

Trollies and sailboats in San Francisco.

All kinds of boats, ferries, hovercrafts, cruise ships.

Airplanes, helicopters, hot-air balloons.

The freaking space shuttle! I mean come on now!

And, yes, a camel (it’s the blurry beige thing on the right).

Overall, a very cool exhibit. However, I can only give it 4 out of 5 stars. I DID NOT see the Rochester Subway represented. What the hell?
