The weather is finally getting nicer so it’s time to put the video game controller down, gather up the family, and do something fun! Here are some great ways to kill time and have a blast around the great city we call Rochester…
Spend a day at the beach
There are so many great beaches around the city of Rochester and the weather is finally nice enough to enjoy them. So get out and start having some sandy fun with your family!
Obviously, you should be going to your favorite beach at least once a year, but don’t neglect all your other options because you’re so used to a specific location. Make it a goal to check out and spend some time at all the great beaches around Rochester.
Check out the following Roc beaches:
- Ontario Beach Park
- Hamlin Beach State Park
- Durand Eastman Park
- Irondequoit Bay Small Boat Harbor
- Lake Ontario StateParkway
Shop for a new car
Shopping for a new car might seem a little intimidating and can actually be pretty stressful if you’re not careful. But if you go into this search with a better attitude and with your family, it could be a very fun and rewarding experience.
54% percent of consumers would buy from a dealership that offers their preferred experience even if it did not have the lowest price.
Maybe you’re buying a car for a new driver? Or maybe you just want to upgrade? Whatever it is, this can be a very fun experience for you and your family. Start by simply talking about buying a new car to get everyone’s initial thoughts and reactions. Then, start narrowing down your options to something a little more realistic. The classic sports car your kid is hoping for is a great dream, but might not be too obtainable at the moment. Next, do plenty of research online to figure out what type of vehicle will be best for your family. And finally, head to some trusted Rochester dealerships and go for as many test drives as it takes until you and your family decide on the perfect new car!
Go for a family drive around Rochester
Drivers spend an average of 17 hours a year searching for parking spots. Rather than wasting your time looking for parking lots, take an entire day and drive around Rochester and take in all its beauty.
The city is full of breathtaking views, historic buildings, and excitement at every corner. Show your kids where you grew up or what school you went to. Or maybe you could take them to Genesee Valley Park and show them where you used to play softball or hang out back in the day. If you have never been to the park, the Erie Canal, or took a drive down the Park Way as a family, today is the day! Pack some snacks, fill up the tank, and get out on the road!
Do some chores around the house
Okay… You’re right. Doing chores — especially for kids — can seem like the most boring thing on the planet, not a fun thing to do with the family. However, once again, it’s all about your mindset!
If you go into it with a poor attitude, nothing is going to get done and you’re going to be hating every second of it. On the flip side, if you decide to have a little fun with these important activities, the possibilities are endless. A good paint job should last anywhere from 8 to 10 years by most experts’ estimations — let your kids run wild with paint for a few hours before you actually get the job done. Also, you can make little games out of other chores and household projects to have a lot of fun.
Whatever you do around this city, if you do it as a family, you’re going to have a blast! Just make sure you keep an open mind, are going into every activity with a positive attitude, and take the whole family along! Have fun and enjoy!
