A local photographer, Mark Goho, has made it his mission to capture 360\u00ba panoramas of <a href=\"https:\/\/www.google.com\/maps\/views\/profile\/105465402973708254330\" target=\"_new\">Rochester parks <img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" style=\"position:relative; top:2px;\" alt=\"external link\" src=\"https:\/\/www.rochestersubway.com\/images\/icon_link.gif\" width=\"15\" height=\"11\" border=\"0\"><\/a> to share with the world on Google Views. Mark&#8217;s latest project took him deep underground and, with a few clicks of a camera and mouse, he has given the general public unfettered access into the abandoned Rochester subway&#8230;<\/p>\n<p><!--more-->To start exploring, use the viewer below. Or better yet, launch the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.google.com\/maps\/views\/view\/105465402973708254330\/gphoto\/6078052670656015042?gl=us&#038;heading=346&#038;pitch=74&#038;fovy=90\" target=\"_new\">fullscreen experience <img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" style=\"position:relative; top:2px;\" alt=\"external link\" src=\"https:\/\/www.rochestersubway.com\/images\/icon_link.gif\" width=\"15\" height=\"11\" border=\"0\"><\/a>.<\/p>\n<p><iframe loading=\"lazy\" width=\"100%\" height=\"500\" frameborder=\"0\" scrolling=\"no\" marginheight=\"0\" marginwidth=\"0\" src=\"https:\/\/maps.google.com\/maps?layer=c&amp;panoid=5-Y1lN9DgbMAAAQfCa-blA&amp;ie=UTF8&amp;source=embed&amp;output=svembed&amp;cbp=13%2C266.9735814238206%2C%2C0%2C13.53827093091084\"><\/iframe><\/p>\n<p>Professionally, Mark works with Google to do something called <a href=\"https:\/\/www.google.com\/maps\/about\/partners\/businessview\/\" target=\"_new\">Google Business View <img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" style=\"position:relative; top:2px;\" alt=\"external link\" src=\"https:\/\/www.rochestersubway.com\/images\/icon_link.gif\" width=\"15\" height=\"11\" border=\"0\"><\/a> which is a lot like the more familiar Street View but inside businesses. <\/p>\n<p>&#8220;I&#8217;ve been doing it for two years now,&#8221; Mark tells RocSubway via a Facebook message. &#8220;I started doing the parks back in 2012, and the virtual tours this Spring.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p>For you shutterbugs, Mark uses a Canon 70D with Sigma 8mm lens. To stitch the panoramas together he uses <a href=\"http:\/\/www.ptgui.com\/\" target=\"_new\">PTGui <img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" style=\"position:relative; top:2px;\" alt=\"external link\" src=\"https:\/\/www.rochestersubway.com\/images\/icon_link.gif\" width=\"15\" height=\"11\" border=\"0\"><\/a>. In this instance he also used a special photographic process known as <a href=\"http:\/\/en.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/High-dynamic-range_imaging\" target=\"_new\">High Dynamic Range (HDR) <img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" style=\"position:relative; top:2px;\" alt=\"external link\" src=\"https:\/\/www.rochestersubway.com\/images\/icon_link.gif\" width=\"15\" height=\"11\" border=\"0\"><\/a> to capture amazing detail in extreme light conditions. If you were to physically venture into the tunnel, beyond the aqueduct bridge it&#8217;s so dark you&#8217;d need normally flood lights to see with this level of clarity.<\/p>\n<p>And what&#8217;s more amazing is that this virtual tour is only partially complete.
