Dear readers, we interrupt our three part Charlotte series<\/a> to give you a small morsel of something different before the grand finale. Consider this a palette cleanser, an intermezzo, if you will.<\/p>\n

I looked up tired in the dictionary, and found this picture of 34 King Street \"external<\/a> in the Susan B. Anthony neighborhood. Seeing as the Carriage Factory lofts are being built immediately behind, I think it\u2019s time for a major upgrade here. Allow me to present the all-new 34 King Street…<\/p>\n

Wait, what, huh? Someone already Filled In 34 King Street? You HAVE to be kidding me. Well this is a first here at Filling In, and we deeply apologize for the misunderstanding. I guess we should at least take a look at what happened here…<\/p>\n

\nWOW! That\u2019s fantastic. Wish I could buy a house like that. Let me guess, the renovation was done by some old-money robber baron and it\u2019s not for sale? I\u2019m always so late to these parties. <\/p>\n

\nOh, it IS for sale<\/a>!? That\u2019s amazing. Who\u2019d sell such a beautiful house? The City of Rochester, that\u2019s who. And not only that, but they\u2019re offering the deal of the century on it. For the low price of $89,900 and a commitment to occupy the home for 15 years, it can be yours (please note additional restrictions in the attached paperwork!). They\u2019re even giving away $6,000 in closing costs (which is the vast majority of them on house this price). There are a few other small catches, but one of the biggest is that the proposal is due by Friday May 30 at 3pm! So it\u2019s time to put pen to paper and call your banker.<\/p>\n

If you\u2019re wondering why we\u2019re discussing 34 King Street at all, it\u2019s because we here at Filling In believe very strongly in the location, we believe very strongly in the property, and we believe strongly that the house should have sold the first time the city listed it months ago for $100k. Unfortunately it did not, but we think it deserves a second chance and a loving owner.
