He&#8217;s an orphan at the Dorsey Home for Dependent Colored Children. You might say the cards are stacked against Victor. Stone]\" width=\"100%\"><\/a><br \/>\nIsabella and Thomas Dorsey started this orphanage in 1917 at their three-bedroom house on <a href=\"https:\/\/maps.google.com\/maps?q=Dr.+Samuel+McCree+Way+and+Reynolds+Street,+rochester+ny&amp;client=safari&amp;oe=UTF-8&amp;hnear=Reynolds+St+%26+Dr+Samuel+McCree+Way,+Rochester,+Monroe,+New+York&amp;gl=us&amp;t=m&amp;z=16\" target=\"_new\" rel=\"noopener\">Dr. Samuel McCree Way <img decoding=\"async\" style=\"position:relative; top:2px;\" alt=\"external link\" src=\"https:\/\/www.rochestersubway.com\/images\/icon_link.gif\" width=\"15\" heigth=\"11\" border=\"0\"><\/a> near Reynolds Street. The orphanage quickly grew and moved to the Sea Breeze area, but a few white neighbors didn&#8217;t like having black children nearby. And so the Dorsey Home was forced to move to some farmland in Brighton (where <a href=\"https:\/\/maps.google.com\/maps?q=mcquaid+jesuit+high+school&amp;ll=43.125513,-77.592273&amp;spn=0.021644,0.029054&amp;client=safari&amp;oe=UTF-8&amp;fb=1&amp;gl=us&amp;hq=McQuaid+Jesuit+High+School&amp;cid=0,0,10851560808029004170&amp;t=m&amp;z=15&amp;iwloc=A\" target=\"_new\" rel=\"noopener\">McQuaid Jesuit High School <img decoding=\"async\" style=\"position:relative; top:2px;\" alt=\"external link\" src=\"https:\/\/www.rochestersubway.com\/images\/icon_link.gif\" width=\"15\" heigth=\"11\" border=\"0\"><\/a> is today).<\/p>\n<p><a title=\"Left to right are: Charlie Davis, Elizabeth (?), Victor Jackson, and Eddie Goode. He&#8217;s got his friends&#8230; That&#8217;s Eddie to the left of Victor. And Elizabeth &amp; Charlie on his right.<\/p>\n<p>These guys are Victor&#8217;s family. For starters, he can carve a pretty awesome jack-o-lantern.<\/p>\n<p><a title=\"Victor Jackson later became the Recreational Supervisor for the City of Rochester. [PHOTO: Albert R.
