\nI took a few hours to have some fun this week at The Strong, National Museum of Play. They’ve got a killer exhibit going on right now, through May 12. A history of transportation built entirely out of LEGO! I haven’t geeked out this bad since Norm Abrams came to Chase-Pitkin for a “This Old House” book signing. Check this out…<\/p>\n

\nThe exhibit, LEGO Travel Adventure \"external<\/a>, takes kids (and under-developed adults like me) back in time to the days of Henry Ford and Wilbur & Orville Wright… and then back to 2013 with mind-blowing LEGO replicas of just about every mode of transportation you can imagine. I think I even saw a camel…<\/p>\n

\nThe transcontinental railroad.<\/p>\n

\nI think this is supposed to be the Titanic…<\/p>\n

\nFunny enough they use NY Harbor as the backdrop.<\/p>\n

\nHenry Ford’s “Model T” on the assembly line.<\/p>\n

\nTrollies and sailboats in San Francisco.<\/p>\n

\nAll kinds of boats, ferries, hovercrafts, cruise ships.<\/p>\n

\nAirplanes, helicopters, hot-air balloons.<\/p>\n

\nThe freaking space shuttle! I mean come on now!<\/p>\n

\nAnd, yes, a camel (it’s the blurry beige thing on the right).<\/p>\n
