Did you hear, last week Rochester earned a spot on a top ten list of most creative cities? It’s true. From local development to just plain news of the weird, here are your RocLinks for this past week\u2026<\/p>\n

Top 10<\/h3>\n

Rochester has been ranked as one of the top 10 most creative cities \"external<\/a> in the country. The article references us as having the 12th most bookstores. While I, personally, love Greenwood Books \"external<\/a>, I’m curious what and where all the other bookstores are. Either that or there are dozens of large cities without a bookstore, which sounds terrible.<\/p>\n

\nNot-Quite-Rochester<\/h3>\n

As long time readers know, it pains me to post links about things happening outside of the city. Unfortunately, Whole Foods’s in-your-face challenge \"external<\/a>to Wegman’s hegemony is too much to pass up on. This now raises the question of how many $40 ostrich eggs \"external<\/a> Brighton can\/will consume. Your guesses in the comments would be much appreciated.<\/p>\n

Hospital(ity)<\/h3>\n

The Highland Hospital is hoping to break ground this spring \"external<\/a> (presumably after Rochester thaws out) on a new expansion. If you recall, long time residents of the neighborhood aren’t big fans \"external<\/a> of the change. In fact, they weren’t too keen on my ideas<\/a> either. That said, the expansion looks relatively innocuous, even if whatever diseases are treated in it surely won’t be.<\/p>\n

Preservation and You<\/h3>\n

The Landmark Society has announced their 2015 Spring Partners Roundup\"external<\/a>. I recommend going so much that I will likely be there myself. I am, sadly, not a member of the YUPs \"external<\/a>, but I will personally vouch for them being awesome people.<\/p>\n
