40 Days After Lake Road

Forty days after the insanity on Lake Road I thought I’d take a drive out there to see it for myself. To have some quiet time. And to reflect. These photos were taken on Saturday, February 2, 2013…

40 days after, families are still picking up the pieces.

40 days after, two heroes are gone; two more still fight.

40 days after, parents still take their kids to learn, and to pay their respects.

40 days after, business is still business. This photo was taken this past Friday.

SERIOUSLY WITH THE JAB TO GUN CONTROL? I am an EMT we as a family suffered losses that will never be forgotten. This is and was not a gun control issue. This is a mental health issue with a broken system. Fix the system leave our guns alone or better yet enforce the laws already in place e and not punish LAW ABIDING citizens for the carelessness of others. That is my rant. Love all of you stay safe and keep up the great website!!!!

Before the comments get out of hand here, I’ll say what I said on Facebook…

I take my camera everywhere I go and post pictures of anything I think is interesting or relevant to Rochester. I didn’t post these pictures to get into a debate about gun control (you might actually be surprised if you knew where I stood on the issue).

I realize I’m one dude with one lens. So, if you feel strongly one way or the other, all you have to do is send your thoughts to me via email and I will post them to the site. That’s always been my policy. Just keep it clean and thoughtful.

I am just upset about the knee jerk reaction that every shooting has on people. No one cares about any other type of homicide or violent crime, beatings, stabbings, rape etc. As our wonderful NYS Legislature showed us, pass a new law without thought or care to the democratic process. When the real issue is mental health, as an EMT I see it day in and day out the abuse the system takes and those that slip through it. It was a VERY sad event and everyone lost.
Again I thank you for doing what you do. I truly love this site and please keep up the great work! We are all entitled to our opinions and thank you for hearing my 2 minute soap box!

@Erik, thanks. I know. I wasn’t directing that towards you. I was just reacting to comments elsewhere and making a preemptive statement. I post photos of lots of stuff people write on walls. It’s not necessarily an endorsement.
