Perhaps my favorite site on the great big internet (besides this one of course) is TED.com . Originally begun in California, TED is a not-for-profit foundation whose sole mission is simply to “Spread Good Ideas to the World.” Much of its content is offered free online, and every 18-minute TED talk is billed as an “idea worth spreading.” A few years ago, Tony Karakashian, Gary Jacobs, and Amanda Doherty began TEDx Rochester
, a local offshoot of TED…
The goal of TEDxRochester is to showcase Rochester as a social, technological and cultural leader, and demonstrate the impact our community has had on the world. The presenters chosen are all from the Rochester area, or have made their primary impact in the area.
I have not attended one of these events yet. But this year RochesterSubway.com has been asked to give a talk. I tried to dodge them… But they wouldn’t stop calling me at work. So I gave in 😉
I’m told there are only 450 available seats for this one-day event on November 5 (9am – 4pm). And you have to apply to get in. But registration for attendees closes today. But if you want to go I’ve got good news for you. As a speaker, I get three tickets to share. My wife has already claimed one. That leaves two…
I Want To Bring YOU
to TEDxRochester!
YOU are the reason why RochesterSubway.com exists at all. So I want to bring you with me. But I only have TWO tickets. So, if you want to go, please send me an email and tell me why you want to go. If I like your reason(s) the best, you’ll get a ticket. Simple as that. Think big.
On Friday I’ll announce the winners in the comments below. Good luck!
